In reading this book, I argue that just as the Book of Proverbs and the Song of Songs bring together the mad love of the heavenly Bridegroom and the Church, so Balázs Zágoni brings together the tragic story of the Mary Rose and the mysterious narrative of divine redemption (for the ship of the Church may “waver¬, but it cannot perish”). According to our author, God’s “epic” confirms the Apostle Paul’s prophecy: “Be of good cheer, for not a soul among you will perish, but only the ship” (Acts 27:22).
